Biography
Art has always been the core of my creative journey. Throughout my school years, Art was the subject where I truly excelled. After high school, my passion for creativity led me to explore various creative disciplines at several different colleges in Northern California. I immersed myself in a diverse range of artistic studies, including basic art practices, silk screening, drawing, painting, stained glass, architecture, art history, pattern drafting, and interior design. At the same time that I was deeply inspired by the Impressionists' use of color and light, I still knew that I wanted to be an abstract artist.
In the early 1970s, I lived in a commune in a beach town in Santa Cruz County, CA. Since I always seemed to have a little quirky way of looking at the world, I embraced the free-spirited lifestyle of the era, finding inspiration in the arts-and-crafts culture that surrounded me. Tie-dye, batik, ceramics, Indian beading, macramé, and stained glass all became a vibrant part of my creative expression. My love for crafting continued throughout my life and has played a key role in my event planning business, where I design décor that brings themed events to life.
I returned to painting—specifically acrylics—to reconnect with my creative side after years of focusing on business. Painting itself has been both rewarding and challenging to me, but my commitment to growth has led me to take online courses, join an Art League, exhibit my work in local galleries, and participate in art festivals. Every day, I learn something new, refining my process from instinctive brushstrokes to more intentional, expressive decisions—while staying true to my bohemian artistic spirit.
I continue to evolve as an artist, expanding my knowledge, and sharing my work with the world. Selling my art has been a fulfilling experience, but ultimately, my greatest joy comes from the pure act of creating. As long as I have fire in my heart while I paint, my artistic journey will continue.
